Taliban killed and wounded 68 civilians in Afghanistan in the past week

Taliban continued their violence against the Afghan civilians last week, killing 23 and wounding another 45 across 16 provinces.

A halt to the civilian causality and violence against the Afghan people are important areas of concern and the demand of the Afghan government, but the Taliban continue to act against the will of all parties and the people of Afghanistan by killing innocent civilians.

Roadside IEDs, targeted killing of civilians and direct firing remain the major cause of civilian casualties in Afghanistan. Use of civilian infrastructure and civilian homes as shield and intentional abduction of civilians make another key component of civilian causalities.

Killing innocent and defenseless Afghan civilians is against all religious, human, war and moral principles and the Taliban continue to do so.
